Blue Star have First Aid training courses designed to suit all of your home and workplace needs. All of our courses are taught by qualified frontline NHS Health Care professionals, which means that you know, you will be taught up to date skills based on the latest research and findings. We know that everyone is human and that things don’t always go to plan when administering first aid, so we will give you the necessary skills and confidence to carry out your training. Emergency First Aid At Work 1 Day (EFAW)

This course is designed for low risk work environments such as small offices. At the end of this course you will receive a certificate that is valid for 3 years. On this course you will learn the following.


  • Dealing with a first aid emergency in the work place.
  • Resuscitation (CPR) of an adult, child and baby.
  • Choking in an adult, child and baby.
  • Controlling bleeding.
  • Providing first aid to an unconscious person, including the recovery position.
  • Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries.

First Aid At Work 3 Day (FAW)

This first aid course is designed for individuals who work in what is classed as a high risk environment. At the end of this course there will be a formal assessment and on completion of this a certificate will be issued which is valid for 3 years. On this course you will learn the following.

  • Dealing with a first aid emergency in the work place.
  • Resuscitation (CPR) of an adult, child and baby.
  • Choking in an adult, child and baby.
  • Controlling bleeding.
  • Dealing with injuries such as fractures, spinal injuries and chest injuries.
  • Dealing with medical conditions such as epilepsy, asthma and diabetes.

Paediatric First Aid 2 Day

This course is designed for any individual who works within a child care setting such as schools, nurseries, child minders or school and holiday clubs. This paediatric course will cover all the aspects around First Aid that are set out by Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage. At the end of this course you will receive a certificate that is valid for 3 years. On this course you will be learn the following.


  • Dealing with a First Aid emergency within a child care setting.
  • Resuscitation (CPR) of a baby, child and adults.
  • Choking in a baby, child and adult.
  • Recovery position.
  • Dealing with asthma, meningitis, epilepsy, convulsions and poisoning.

Mini Paediatric First Aid Course

This course is designed for both parents and grandparents and is ideally suited for play groups and parent and toddler groups. This 2 hour course will cover all the basics of first aid to help you deal with any emergency at home and whilst out and about. On this course you will learn the following.
